India’s home made Hike Messenger launches a brand new feature keeping the privacy of the users in mind. Now its users won’t have to share their personal phone number to log in. This new feature allows you to create a unique ID that you can share to connect with people.
Hike Messenger ID is the Users Choice
The Hike team conducted a survey in 2017 and received over 1 million responses. Responding to the people’s choice, they decided to launch the Hike ID. The survey showed an overwhelming response where 69% of the people preferred to talk to others without sharing their phone number. Shockingly, 72% didn’t care about saving the phone numbers of the people as there was no need.
Pathik Shah, VP Product at Hike, said, “Privacy is at the centre of everything we do at Hike. There has always been a big need from our users for features which enable them to have more control over their relationships online like Hidden Mode and customized privacy controls for profile pictures, timeline posts and status updates. These features have been extremely popular and Hike ID is the logical next step for us to make this value proposition even stronger by enabling easier discovery and control while connecting with others”.
Hike was launched in 2012 and has more than 100 million users. The company has two offices and over 350 employees.
