Kathua Rape Murder - Vaginal Swabs Confirm DNA Match With Accused Says Delhi Forensic Lab

Finally we have the report of the Delhi Forensic Lab which confirms the DNA match of the accused with the vaginal swabs taken from the 8 year old Kathua Rape victim. This should hopefully put an end to alternate truth versions of the heinous incident floating around on the social media.

Forensic Lab Results

The Delhi Forensic Science Laboratory tested 14 packets of evidences containing vaginal swabs, some internal organs, blood samples of the accused, hair samples, clothes and clay. The special investigation team sent the samples to the Delhi Forensic lab between March 1 and March 21.

After thorough testing, the Forensic Lab has confirmed that the samples tested positive for rape. The Forensic Lab also confirmed that there is a DNA match with the accused. They have already submitted the report to the J&K Police Crime Branch on April 3.

No Scope For Fake News After The DNA Match

There has been a great amount of effort and energy wasted by certain political parties and their supporters in creating alternate versions of this sad and unfortunate crime that took place in Kathua earlier this year. From protests to circulating alternate versions of the case on social media, no stone was left unturned. Most of the right winged nationalists were working overtime trying to convince people that there was no rape.

Unfortunately, there were constant protests and demands by the locals for a CBI enquiry of the case. The reason they cited was that the Crime Branch had unlawfully altered the evidences and the facts. They also maintained the rhetoric that there was no rape and only the murder. Also, that it was a conspiracy against the Hindus of that region.

Finally, with the results of the Delhi Forensic Lab, it will put an end to all different versions of the incident. It is still not known if some action would be taken against people trying to deliberately spread fake information.
