Lucknow University has ordered no students movement in the collage premise on the Valentines Day. The authorities have asked the students to stay away from the campus on this day. The university has taken a step ahead this year and informed the parents to keep the kids away from the campuses.
Valentines Day — A Controversy
Chief proctor of the Lucknow University Vinod Singh has issued a strict warning against anyone violating the orders. The university has declared 14th February as a holiday on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, the order directed. It also said that in recent years there has been an influence of the western culture on the younger generation. And it is because this influence that they indulge in the celebration of the Valentines Day. The order instructs that there would be no exams or classes or any sort of cultural event under any circumstances.
Valentine’s Day has been amidst controversy for many years. Mostly right winged affiliates create ruckus and commotion during this day. Every year there are mob gatherings by VHP, RSS and Bajrang Dal members to protest against the Valentine’s Day celebrations.

This is not the first time the Lucknow University has come up with some such advisory. Even in 2014, the university had laid out a set of rules on 14th February. The authorities had advised against student should carrying roses to the university.
