2) Focusing too much time on marketing when there needs to be more focus on actual work: Marketing is important but it shouldn’t supersede production. Often times businesses become so focused on making marketing materials and doing the advertising that they forget to do the actual work.

Focusing too much effort on increasing quota: You might think it’s great to make as many sales as possible in order to please your boss or get promoted quickly; but actually focusing more on what customers need just leads to higher profit margins! It also ensures that there are less products left over at the end of each day. That means fewer opportunities for making mistakes like running out of inventory midweek because someone “did their best” selling two sets when they should have sold five per customer.

You know, you’ve heard the saying “go big or go home.” It’s a sentiment that so many people subscribe to when it comes to starting their own business. But what if you don’t have the resources to start your new company in an industry like tech, real estate, finance? You might be thinking “well then I’ll just stick with my day job.” Unfortunately for some entrepreneurs who are looking to break into more traditional businesses such as restaurants and retail stores, this can mean penny-pinching on everything from marketing materials to office furniture. They think they’re saving money now only wasting time and money in the future by not investing in essential startup services early enough on.
